So, you've put your Mississauga or Markham Ontario real estate property on the market, you've hired a real estate agent and you've come up with what you think is the perfect selling price. What's next? Having an open house to show off your home. Anyone with Mississauga homes for sale will most likely have to put on an open house at some point. Unless you're one of the lucky ones who sells their home the day it's put on the market. That doesn't happen too often, though.
Having an open house is a great way to entice potential home buyers. Inviting them into your home for sale in Rosedale or Mississauga gives them a free invitation to check out the home you're are selling to see if they can picture themselves one day living inside of it. It also allows them to ask any questions they might have about the home. Setting up an open house can be a lot of work which is why we're going to offer you some tips that you can use that will help you prepare for an open house.
Whether you're setting up an open house for Mississauga homes or Toronto lofts, you should make sure that any potential hazards such as electrical wires in open areas, sharp table corners, or slippery stairs have all been taken care of. Not only are they dangerous but they can be very off putting to potential home buyers. If they see something like that out in the open, it only makes them wonder what else that they can't see might need repairing or renovating. It also doesn't hurt to make your home look appealing. Easy things such as removing clutter, rearranging furniture to make the home look more inviting or painting worn out areas can give the home a very spruced up look.
If you plan on serving food and refreshments to the people who come to your open house, try to avoid foods with strong or unappealing odours. Items such as fish or Limburger cheese should not be on the menu. Instead bake up some home made cookies that can leave a very pleasant lingering smell that will make people feel at home. Freshly brewed coffee is never a bad thing to serve either. There are things you don't have control over. Such as the weather. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be prepared for rain or snow. Provide guests with a place to leave their shoes, coats, boots and umbrellas if the weather outside is poor. You don't want them mucking up the home with their dirty shoes.
These are just a few suggestions we have that will hopefully help you to prepare for your open house showing. Remember, no matter how much information you put in a Mississauga or Kitchener Waterloo real estate listings brochure, seeing the home in person is a much better selling tool.
