Are you in charge of one of the many upcoming Mississauga events? Maybe you are sharing the burden with someone else, maybe you are going it alone. One thing is certain; making sure that your event goes green will mean it goes over well with almost everyone. Almost everyone is aware of their carbon footprint today, and everyone wants to make sure to do their part in ensuring that Earth is able to support life long after we are gone.

You can do your part by considering every aspect of your event from a green angle. You might be planning a demonstration of the most effective international mobile broadband signal from a high tech phone at a trades show or having a baby shower for a friend; either way, there are some things to keep in mind that can make the event greener.

Ask, for example, what kind of recyclable or recycled materials you can use at your event. Every single event uses a lot of material. You might be using paper to advertise an open house showing off a Verve condo, you might be hosting a luncheon. Whatever the event, make sure that any paper products used for advertising or by guests can either be recycled or are made from recycled materials. Napkins, for example, can often be bought as recycled. And your open house posters can all be made on recycled paper, and then recycled again after the event is over.

If there are going to be refreshments at your event showcasing naturopathy in Toronto, use the most environmentally friendly utensils and crockery possible. Coloured plastic cups and plates are the best option; again, they are generally made from recycled material and can also often be recycled in turn. Just check on the bottom of the stack to see if they have the recyclable emblem printed on them.

As you make your house plans for hosting the event, try to make it as convenient to get to as possible. Maybe suggest that friends from locations close to one another carpool to get to the event in order to save on gas. If you can hold your event close to modes of public transportation, even better; everyone can save on fuel and environmental costs that way!

In keeping with that theme, try to make your event area specific. Don't host an event to showcase home health care in London in Mississauga, just because you will get more people. That doesn't make sense from an environmental or business perspective.

There probably isn't one aspect of your event that can't be scrutinized under the green light. From location to materials to products, you can make sure that your event is as good for our planet as possible.
