If you find yourself to be a power walker or go jogging a lot around your Mississauga condominiums then why not put those fitness powers of yours to good use? In pretty much every city around the country there are usually a high number of charity walks or runs that take place to raise money. The charity runs or walks raise money for a variety of charity organizations. The money raised goes to fund various research programs as well as help those in need in the community.

There are plenty of organizations that hold charity runs, walks or bike-a-thons all year round in Mississauga. For instance there's the Bike 4 Betty charity event that takes place in May. Memorial Park is home to the Bike 4 Betty event. Head on down from your Mississauga or Lakeshore condos and strap on your bike helmet or running shoes to help raise money for Trillium's Betty Wallace Women's Health Centre. The money raised from the Bike 4 Betty charity event also aids the Betty & Buster Lockwood Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre. Both worthwhile causes.

If you're a dog lover then you can throw your legs and feet behind the Purina Walk for Dog Guides charity event hosted by the Mississauga Lions Club. Leave your 1430 Yonge street condo and make your way to Saddington Park where the event is located. The fund raising purpose for Purina Walk for Dog Guides is to help raise money for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. The money goes to their dog training programs that trains guide dogs to help those with disabilities. It costs over $20,000 to train one single dog so the Mississauga Lions Club can use all the money you can raise. You can take part whether you live in Mississauga or Cabbagetown Toronto.

A lot of people enter charity runs or walks because they know someone personally that has been stricken by a disease and want to support them or they have been afflicted with a disease themselves. Whatever your reason to run doesn't matter. What matters is that you go out there and help raise money for worthy causes. Such as cancer research, to help those with diabetes, support people with Alzheimer's or MS, or to help fund food banks for the homeless. It's easy to not get off the couch in your Toronto Beaches homes but you should at least make the effort to do so.
